In nationalen und internationalen Publikationen wird für Pflegeheime eine Kontrakturprävalenz zwischen 26,7% und 87,6% angegeben. Die einzige hier vorliegende Erhebung aus einem deutschen Pflegeheim zeigt eine Prävalenz von 27,2%. Wahrscheinlich bedingen die unterschiedlichen Settings und Methoden der Datenerhebung diese Varianten. Kontrakturen werden immer häufiger als Indikator für Pflegequalität diskutiert. Das lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit auf dieses challenge und zu der Fragestellung, welche Strategien geeignet sind, eine evidenzbasierte Kontrakturprophylaxe bei mobilitätseingeschränkten Bewohnern von Pflegeheimen durchzuführen.
